Based on the Scottish legend "Sawney Bean: The Cannibal of Ayrshire" and seeped in fantasy, The Appetite is a coming of age story centred around Simon: A teen on the verge of adulthood, living in the heart of the Highlands. Pulled between an overbearing mother and a dark figure who doesn’t seem all that human, Simon must decide what path he must take: To stand by those who love him, or to harness a dark power he was destined to have. Full of hypocrisy, irony and highlighting the flaws found within human nature, The Appetite throws us into the dark underworld of Scottish myth and legend.

 

 

The project is a short film collaboration between students from some of UK's top film universities. Our ambition is to create a production that represents us as young filmmakers which we can present at a variety of festivals, including: Toronto Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
